This Moment is All You Have: Be Present

Throughout my travels and my life, one of the prominent themes that I'm constantly aware of, is that here in America, we (many, but not all of us) rarely sit comfortably in the present moment. One of my favorite memories of Italy is sitting outside and actually enjoying my cappuccinos!

Many of us don't do this in America. We are always checking our schedules, running late for an appointment, and thinking about what task we have left to accomplish. We rarely stop to listen to our surroundings, feel the heat of the sun on our faces, or observe the tiny little experiences that are constantly occurring around us.

I'm guilty of this as well. However, I know that when I do stop, and practice being present, -being in the moment, I'm amazed at what I notice, and I'm always aware of the sense of peace I feel within.

Do you practice being present? What do you notice? What might we be missing out when we're not present? Think about it...
